The rap was originally written by Jay Z for the soundtrack to Space Jam and was one of Jay Z's first projects that he worked on. When The WB wanted to promote The Looney Tunes Show in 2011 they altered the lyrics to talk about the network. Smith co-wrote the song along with West.
