Thomas and Friends - Season 17 will air in the UK on June 3rd, 2013 and in the USA on October 7th the same year. This season should be the first of a new writing style for the series. Following the September 2013 special, King of the Railway, it will also be the first season to be animated by Arc Productions.

Episodes

  1. Kevin's Cranky Friend Kevin helps Cranky at the docks, but Cranky does not think he needs help even as the work piles up
  2. Scruff's Makeover - Scruff gets a new coat of paint and refuses to take rubbish because he does not want to get dirty.
  3. Wayward Winston - Winston is tired of being teased because The Fat Controller is a bad driver so Winston goes driver-less.
  4. Gordon Runs Dry - Gordon gets hit by a stone from Paxton's truck and gets a hole in his boiler and gets late so when he tries he tries to make up for lost time he leaks.
  5. Calm Down Caitlin - Caitlin stays on Sodor for the night. The Fat Controller tells her to be calm and consider. But when she takes the flying kipper and the mail she becomes too loud and is very tired in the morning
  6. Steamie Stafford -  Stafford becomes jealous of the steam engines because of all the noise they make, so he begins to act like them.
  7. Henry's Hero - Henry and Hiro have been taking bad coal. Duck tells them about it, Henry then decides to go back to his shed which leaves Hiro to manage the coal on his own.
  8. Luke's New Friend - Luke befriends a deer at the Blue Mountain Quarry he brings the deer to Ulfstead Castle.
  9. The Switch - Luke and Millie swap jobs.
  10. Not Now, Charlie! - There's an elephant on Charlie's track and Charlie tries to alert the other engines, but they wouldn't listen. Harold however, listens to Charlie and rescues the deer.
  11. The Lost Puff - Paxton tries to find Thomas' "lost puff".
  12. The Thomas Way - Thomas and Duck need to work together to help Harold when he breaks down.
  13. The Phantom Express - James tricks Percy into thinking there is a ghost at Ulfstead Castle.
  14. Percy's Lucky Day - Percy suffers a bout of bad luck, Stephen gives him a lucky dream.
  15. Bill or Ben? - Bill and Ben trick Connor.

Trivia

  • This will be the first season to be animated by Arc Productions
  • From this season onwards, the series will be directed by David Baas.
  • This will be the first season to be written by current head writer, Andrew Brenner.
  • This is Mark Moraghan's first season as narrator.
  • Five episodes from the upcoming DVD 'Railway Mischief', and two others based from the 2013 Wooden Railway sets, 'Santa's Little Engine' and 'Sidney's Holiday Special' were the evidence of the currently revealed episodes airing for Series 17 in Autumn 2013 the two being Santa's Little Engine and New Wheels For Sidney (Possibly working title for The Missing Christmas Decorations).
  • The writers are now credited when the title is put up at the beginning.
  • Duck and Ben appear for the first time since season 12 and Bill appears for the first time since season 11.
  • Rupert Degas has left the voice cast.
