Ash Comes To Breakfast[]

  • Ringo Starr: Ash Ketchum has worked his Branch Route for many years, and knows it very well.
  • Ash's Driver: You know just where to stop, Ash. You could almost manage it without you.
  • Ringo Starr: Ash had become conceited. He didn't realize his driver was joking. Later, he boasted to the others.
  • Ash: Driver says I don't need him now.
  • Mary: Don't be so daft.
  • Clemont: I never go without my driver. I'd be frightened.
  • Ash: Pooh! I'm not scared.
  • Clemont: You never dare.
  • Ash: I would then. You'll see.
  • Ringo Starr: The next day the firelighter came. Ash drowsed comfortably as the warmth spread into his body. Mary and Clemont were still asleep. Ash suddenly remembered.
  • Ash: Silly stick-in-the-muds! I'll show them! Driver says I can manage without him. I'll just go out and then I'll stop and "wheesh!" That'll make them jump.
  • Ringo Starr: Ash thought he was being clever and really he was only moving because a careless cleaner had medal with his controls. He soon found his mistake. He tried to "wheesh!", but he couldn't. He tried to stop, but he couldn't. He just kept rolling along. He didn't dare what it look what's coming next. There was the principal's house! The principal was about to have breakfast.
  • Ash: Horrors!
  • Ringo Starr: The house rocked, broken glass tinkled, plaster was everywhere. Ash had collected the bush on his travels. He peered into his room through his leaves. He couldn't speak. The principal was furious. His wife picked up her plate.
  • Warmerammer: You miserable trainer! Just look what you've done to our breakfast! Now I'll shall have to cook some more!
  • Ringo Starr: She banged the door. More plaster fell. This time it fell on Ash. Ash felt depressed. Workmen propped out the house with strong poles and laid rails through the garden. Meanwhile, Donkey and Diddy Kong arrived.
  • Diddy Kong: Don't worry yourself, Ash. We'll soon have you back on the rails.
  • Ringo Starr: Donkey and Diddy Kong puffing hard manage to haul Thomas back to safety. Bits of fencing, the bush, and a broken window frame festooned was front, which was badly twisted. The kongs laughed and left him. Ash was in disgraced. There was worst to come.
  • Homer: You are a very naughty trainer.
  • Ash: I know, Sir. I'm sorry, Sir.
  • Ringo Starr: Ash's voice was muffled behind his bush.
  • Homer: You must go to the works and have your front mended. It will be a long job.
  • Ash: Yes, Sir.
  • Homer: Meanwhile, a Cardcaptor with black hair will do your work.
  • Ash: A C-C-Cardcaptor, sir?
  • Homer: Yes, Ash. Cardcaptors always stay in their sheds till they are wanted. Cardcaptors never gallivanting off to breakfast in principal's houses.

Meilin Rae[]

  • Ringo Starr: Mary and Clemont were worried. Ash's recent accident had caused a great deal of trouble, and Homer Simpson was waiting with them with important news.
  • Homer: Here is Meilin Rae, who has come to help while Ash is...indisposed.
  • Mary: Please sir, will she go sir, when Ash comes back sir?
  • Homer: That depends. Meanwhile, however long she stays, I hope you will both make her welcome and comfortable.
  • Clemont: Yes, sir, we'll try, sir.
  • Homer: Good. Run along now and show her the ???. She will want a rest after her journey.
  • Ringo Starr: Meilin was hard to pleased. She shuddered at the ??? ???.
  • Meilin: This is dreadfully smelly. I'm highly sprung, and anything smelly is bad for my swerves.
  • Ringo Starr: Next, they tried the ??? ???.
  • Meilin: This is better. But whatever is that rubbish?
  • Ringo Starr: The rubbish turned out to be Toni, Mika and Bonnie who were most offended.
  • Toni: We won't stay here to be insulted.
  • Ringo Starr: Mary and Clemont had to take them away and spend half the night soothing their hurt feelings. The ??? woke next morning feeling exhausted. Meilin, on the other hand, felt bright and cheerful.
  • Meilin: Oooh! Oooh!
  • Ringo Starr: She came out of the ??? and back to the ???.
  • Meilin: Look at me. I'm the latest ???, highly sprung and right up to date. You won't want Ash's ??? Toni and Mika now.
  • Ringo Starr: The passengers waited for Meilin to start, but she didn't. She saw that the milk van was about to be coupled to her and was most indignant.
  • Meilin: Do they except me to pull that?
  • Meilin's Driver: Surely. You can pull one van.
  • Meilin: I won't. Mary can do it. She loves messing about with Beedrill.
  • Ringo Starr: Meilin began to shudder violently.
  • Meilin's Driver: Nonsense. Come on now, back down.
  • Ringo Starr: Meilin lurched backwards. She was so cross that she ???.
  • Meilin: Told you.
  • Ringo Starr: Everyone argued with her but it was no use.
  • Meilin: It's fitter's orders.
  • Passengers: What is?
  • Meilin: My fitter's a very nice man. He comes every week and examines me carefully. Meilin, he says, never, never pull. You're highly sprung and pulling is bad for your swerves. So that's how it is.
  • Stationmaster: Stuff and nonsense.
  • Shunter: I can't understand, whatever made Homer Simpson send us such a feeble...
  • Meilin: Feeble? Feeble?! Let me...
  • Passengers: Stop arguing! We're late already.
  • Ringo Starr: So the passengers uncoupled the van, and Meilin purred away feeling very pleased with herself. She can now enjoyed her journey.
  • Meilin: That's a good story. I'll do just what work I choose, and no more.
  • Ringo Starr: But she said it to herself.

Mary's Predicament[]

  • Ringo Starr: Meilin Rae's work in the countryside was full of surprises, but she was frightened to bulls and cows, and she remain very lazy and stubborn. One day, Clemont brought Bonnie to the station where Mary was grumbling shunting.
  • Clemont: Hello, Mary. I see Meilin's left the milk behind again.
  • Mary: I had to make a special journey within i suppose. Anyone would think I've nothing to do.
  • Clemont: Tell you what, I'll take the milk, you fetch my Beedrill.
  • Ringo Starr: Mary and Clemont's drivers and stationmaster agreed. Mary had never been to the quarry before. She began ordering the Beedrill about.
  • Mary: Hurry along.
  • Ringo Starr: The Beedrill grumbled to each other.
  • Beedrill: This is Clemont's place! Mary's got no right to poke her ??? in here and push us around.
  • Ringo Starr: They whispered and pass the word.
  • Beedrill: Pay Mary out! Pay Mary out!
  • Mary: Come along, no nonsense.
  • Beedrill: We'll give him nonsense.
  • Ringo Starr: But the Beedrill followed so quietly that Mary thought they were under control. Suddenly, they saw a notice ahead: All ??? Stop To Pin Down Brakes.
  • Mary: Peep peep! Brakes, Conductor, please!
  • Ringo Starr: But before he could check them the Beedrill surged ahead.
  • Beedrill: On! On!
  • Mary: Help! Help!
  • Ringo Starr: The man on duty at the crossing rushed to warn traffic with his red flag but was too late to switch Mary to the runaway sidings. Frantically trying to grip the rails Mary slid into the yard.
  • Mary: Peep! Peep! Look out!
  • (Crash!)
  • Ringo Starr: The break van was in smithereens. Mary's driver and fireman had jumped clear, but Mary was stranded. Next day, Homer Simpson arrived. Gordon and Meilin had helped to clear the wreckage, but Mary remained on his perch of Beedrill.
  • Homer: We must now try, to run a branch line with Clemont and a ???. You have put us in an awkward predicament.
  • Mary: I am sorry, sir.
  • Homer: You can stay here till we are ready. Perhaps it will teach you to be careful with Beedrill.
  • Ringo Starr: Mary sighed. The Beedrill groaned beneath her ???. She quite understood about awkward predicaments. Homer Simpson spoke severely to Meilin too.
  • Homer: My ??? work hard. I send lazy ??? away.
  • Ringo Starr: Meilin was ashamed.
  • Homer: However, Clemont says you worked hard after Mary's accident, so you shall have another chance.
  • Meilin: Thank you, sir. I will work hard, sir. Clemont says he'll help me.
  • Homer: Excellent. What Clemont doesn't know about branch line problems isn't worth knowing. Our Gordon is an experienced ???.
  • Ringo Starr: Next day, Ash came back, and Mary was sent to be mended. Toni and Mika were delighted to see Ash again and he took them to a run at once. All were now friends, and Clemont has taught Meilin a great deal. She shooed a cow all by herself the other day. That show's you, doesn't it?
