  • The process called metamorphism, which means "change in form."
  • The product may be sedimentary, igneous or another metamorphic rock.
  • Metamorphic rocks form only at the high temperatures and pressures.
  • Rocks that were subjected to equal pressure from all sides will not be foliated.
