The following instructions were copied and/or adapted from mw:Extension:TitleBlacklist.

The title blacklist is maintained as a system message at MediaWiki:Titleblacklist.

The Titleblacklist consists of regular expressions, each on a separate line, for example:

Foo <autoconfirmed|noedit|errmsg=blacklisted-testpage> 
[Bb]ar #No one should create article about it

 Important: There is no need to use “^” at the beginning, and “$” at the end, these are added automatically.

Each entry may also contain optional attributes, enclosed in <> and divided by |

• autoconfirmed — only non-autoconfirmed users are unable to create/upload/move such pages
• noedit — users are also unable to edit this article
• casesensitive — don’t ignore case when checking title for being blacklisted
• errmsg — the name of the message that should be displayed instead of standard

When the action is blocked, one of the following messages is displayed together with the filter row (as $1):

• titleblacklist-forbidden-edit
• titleblacklist-forbidden-move
• titleblacklist-forbidden-new-account
• titleblacklist-forbidden-prefix
• titleblacklist-forbidden-upload

Generic filenames have their own custom error message: MediaWiki:Titleblacklist-custom-imagename.

There is also a local title whitelist, and a globally maintained title blacklist from VSTF.

Only local Administrators, VSTF, Helpers, and Staff can override the TitleBlacklist’s restrictions.

Divergent/Tiny Toons Adventures

User:Petuniabunny178 filed a title blacklist incident report at the Noticeboard in which she indicated that she was unable to create a page entitled either “Divergent/Tiny Toons Adventures” or “Divergent (2014)/Tiny Toons Adventures” due to the Titleblacklist (verify).

Using my autoconfirmed-user test account, I was able to duplicate the same incident as she had.

For now, rather than removing “tiny toons” from the Titleblacklist, I recommend instead adding “Divergent (2014)/Tiny Toons Adventures” to the Titlewhitelist, until such time as this becomes too cumbersome. — SpikeToronto 21:06, December 25, 2014 (UTC)

Not done. The problem is that there are TWO (2) typos in your attempted title. You want to create your new page at this title:

The Fault in Our Stars (2014)/Tiny Toon Adventures

The first error is there must be a space before the “(2014)”. The second error is that “Toons” should be singular → Toon. Click on the redlink above, and you should be able to create your page without difficulty. Thanks! — SpikeToronto 16:45, December 27, 2014 (UTC)

Administrator Note: Petuniabunny, I just logged into my test account and tried clicking on the redlink above for The Fault in Our Stars (2014)/Tiny Toon Adventures. I too received the same error message that you received, that an entry in the Titleblacklist prevents us from creating the page. I do not understand why that is the case: The only entry in the Titleblacklist is for “Tiny Toons”, with an s at the end of “Toon”. But, as you and I can clearly see, there is no s at the end of “Toon” in the redlink above. Let me figure this out and get back to you. Please be patient. Disabled

Why is this disabled? You think it would be important in preventing vandalism.

I had temporarily disabled it because it kept preventing one of our members from uploading his videos. Then, I was too busy to debug it. Then, when I was ready to figure it out, Wikia had locked up the MediaWiki namespace. It seems this page is whitelisted now, though.  UPDATE: It seems that some of the pages relating to the title blacklist are still locked up. They need to whitelist the following:

• MediaWiki:Titleblacklist*
• MediaWiki:Titlewhitelist*

 UPDATE: It seems that MediaWiki:Titleblacklist can now be edited by us. So, I’ve re-activated it, and should User:Skullzproductions experience the same upload problems he was having before, then perhaps, between all us admins and advisors, we can figure it out this time.
