Group: Insectoid - Level: Champion - Type: Virus - Attack Techniques: Scissor Claw, Power Guillotine Kuwagamon was the very first evil Digimon that the kids encountered when they arrived in the DigiWorld. He first attacked Tai and Izzy, who were aided in avoiding him by Koromon and Motimon, their Digimon. When all the kids met up, Kuwagamon attacked again, forcing them to flee. Tai wanted to fight, and the little In-TrainingDigimon agreed, using their Bubble Blow attack in a VERY vain attempt at defeating him. When all looked lost, the In-Trainings Digivolved for the first time, into theirRookie stages, knocking Kuwagamon off his feet and sending him tumbling into the forest. However, celebrations were short-lived, as he got right back up again, and used his Scissor Claw attack to bite the cliff-edge the kids and their Digimon were standing on clean off, sending them into the river below. Some time later, when the kids were walking the deserts of Server, they were attacked by a Kuwagamon - most likely not the same one, as he was noted as being "much bigger than the last time." Agumon was afraid to Digivolve, after having just recently become SkullGreymon, and his indecisiveness would have meant the kids' end, ifPiximon hadn't shown up and dealt with the Kuwagamon using his Pit Bomb attack. It's not clear if the Kuwagamon was destroyed or not - it probably was, but the US censors glossed over the fact. Much later, when the kids had defeated VenomMyotismon, and were back on Earth, a bizarre portal to the DigiWorld appeared in the sky. Various Digimon came through the portal - including a Kuwagumon (possibly the same Kuwagamon from either of the two previous encounters, possibly not), which promptly attacked a jet liner. Garudamon and Kabuterimon saw him off, and set the plane down safely. Kuwagamon was then seen menacing other parts of the world in a newscast. Four years later, when the DigiDestined discovered the Digimon Emperor's base, several Kuwagamon were seen fighting with some Tuskmon and DarkTyrannomon outside of it. A Kuwagamon was seen cowering fear up a tree as BlackWarGreymon stormed through a jungle. The Kuwagamon was terrified of him, but luckily, BlackWarGreymon passed him by, not considering him worthy of his attention. Later, when Digimon were appearing in the real world, a Kuwagamon was seen in New York City, but was sent back to the DigiWorld with all the other Digimon there. Yuri, a DigiDestined from Russia, had a Kuwagamon for a partner. This Kuwagamon, along with Sonya and Anna’s Snimon and Unimon, and Aquilamon and Garudamon, helped to defeat a squadron ofFlymon, and then flew to Moscow to battle a horde of Mammothmon. Things looked bleak, but Imperialdramon saved the day. Multiple Kuwagamon, one of which was Yuri’s, appeared along with all the other Digimon of the world’s DigiDestined when MaloMyotismon was attempting to shroud both worlds in darkness. A Kuwagamon first appears in "And so it begins...” Yuri’s Kuwagamon first appears in “Digimon World Tour, Pt. 3.” Name: From the Japanese word, "kuwagatamushi," meaning stag beetle.
