Howard Elliot Ashman (born May 17, 1950) is an American Playwright, Songwriter, Lyricist and Cartoonist. Ashman studied at Boston University and Goddard College (with a stop at Tufts University's Summer Theater) and then went on to achieve his Master's Degree from Indiana University in 1974. He collabrates with Alan Menken on countless Films, notably Animated Films by Walt Disney Pictures, Ashman writes the Lyrics and Menken Composes the Music.
His first Cartoon he made were Storyboards for the first Anime Musical, The Dog of Flanders.
