Futuraemon is an international crossover comedy drama science-fiction animated television series based on Doraemon by Fujiko F. Fujio and Futurama by Matt Groening produced by Rough Draft Studios, The ULULU Company, Bang Zoom! Entertainment, TV Asahi, and 20th Century Animation. The series mainly focuses on Nobita, Fry, Leela, Shizuka, and Bender while Doraemon is less focused on here.
Plot
In 2005, a young Japanese boy named Nobita Nobi is reprimanded and scolded by his teacher for getting poor grades. Although he asks his mother to have him change schools but she refuses. Nobita decides to cut all ties with Shizuka Minamoto. Nobita goes to Shizuka's house where he returns all of her stuff, giving a goodbye message to Yoshio Minamoto. When Shizuka chases after Nobita, he decides to make Shizuka hate him by lifting up her skirt, earning him a slap in the face. Nobita meets up with Dekisugi and tells him to take care of Shizuka before he goes home. Shizuka and Dekisugi later talk about how weird that Nobita has been behaving and wonder if he's alright. Shizuka starts worrying about Nobita just as she overhears from Gian and Suneo that Nobita was harshly scolded by his teacher to the point of telling him he would not have any future at the rate he is going. Nobita sees Shizuka coming to his house and tells Doraemon that he is going to run away from home, goes out of the house, runs away to the street just as Doraemon pulls out the Anywhere Door, and goes to New York, United States where he is last seen going to Applied Cryogenics and makes his entry in the deserted lab where the sign says "You can solve all your problems by freezing them!" when Shizuka goes after him. Nobita finds himself at the deserted lab and notices a 25 year old Philip J. Fry who was cryogenically frozen 5 years earlier. Nobita tries to end his life but he falls in an open cryonic tube and is frozen as it immediately activates for 1000 years. On December 31, 2999, Fry is defrosted in which New York has become an extremely futuristic metropolis where he is greeted by two workers at the lab and he is taken to a fate assignment officer named Leela as she assigns him the career of delivery boy. Fry flees into the city, dodges an attack from Leela, and she falls into the cryonic tube that Fry fell in 1000 years ago. The timer sets itself for 1000 years. Fry reduces the timer of the tube that Leela is in so she isn't trapped for so long, but he still has enough time to desert her and reduces the other tube that Nobita is in for 3 minutes. Nobita is defrosted where he is finding himself now in retro-futuristic 31st century New New York and is relieved that he will never be scolded by his teacher for his poor grades or yelled at by his mom ever again. Nobita goes to reduce the timer of the next tube that Shizuka is in for 2 minutes, another tube for 12 minutes when Gian, Suneo, Dekisugi, and Jaiko are defrosted, and the next tube for 22 minutes when Nakameguro is defrosted, seen by Leela and catches up to meet Fry by going with him. Shizuka is defrosted and meets Leela whom she tells to go with her so they could catch Nobita and Fry. While Nobita helps Fry trying to track down Fry's only living and distant relative named Professor Farnsworth, they befriend a suicidal robot named Bender and they evade Shizuka and Leela together and they evade Shizuka and Leela together and they duck into the Head Museum to hide and encounter the preserved heads of historic figures including Fujiko F. Fujio's head, Osamu Tezuka's head, Takeshi Kitano's head, and Michio Kaku's head. Nobita goes with Fry and Bender to hide in the Hall of Criminals and Bender manages to bend the bars apart and they enter a grate that leads to the ruins of Old New York until Shizuka and Leela catch Nobita who is relieved that he will never be bullied, reprimanded, or scolded anymore and Fry who is depressed that everyone he knew and loved is dead and Shizuka reprimands Nobita for his behavior in the past, while tearfully stating how worried she was after he ran away from home while Fry tells Leela that he will accept his career as a delivery boy. Leela sympathizes with Fry-she too is alone, and hates her job as she quits and gives Nobita advice and tells him to try to control himself but he is safe now, and joins Fry and Bender as job deserters. Nobita realizes how worried Shizuka was for him and apologizes for his behavior. Nobita is glad that New New York in the 31st century would be a better place for him than Tokyo in the 21st century. The five track down Professor Farnsworth, the founder of an intergalactic delivery company called Planet Express. With the help of Professor Farnsworth, the five all evade the police by launching the Planet Express Ship at the stroke of midnight amid the New Year's fireworks, Nobita, Fry, Bender, Shizuka, and Leela begin to ponder their lives as they are now unemployed until the Professor decides to hire all of them for an interplanetary service that he founded to fund his work. As the year 3000 begins, the Professor hires the five as the new crew of his ship. Fry is assigned to be a delivery boy in which he ironically cheers at his new job. Shizuka, Leela, Nobita, Fry, and Bender are now the new crew of Planet Express and introduced to the other Planet Express employees by the Professor: Doctor John A. Zoidberg, intern Amy Wong, and bureaucrat Hermes Conrad. It becomes apparent the ship needs a captain, and Leela is chosen. Shizuka is chosen as Leela's assistant and Nobita is chosen as Fry's assistant. The crew goes on their first delivery mission only to the moon, Nobita goes with Fry who undergoes severe culture shock, with only Amy accompanying them and explore Luna Park. Nobita, Fry, Bender, and Amy all want to see the park but Shizuka and Leela both aren't really interested. They want them to deliver the crate like professionals, and then go home. But their crew convince them and they decide after finishing the job like professionals, they can go ride the bumper cars. They order Amy, Nobita, and Fry to hoist down the crate. Fry soon gets bored of the park and wants to see "the real Moon". In spite of Shizuka and Leela's orders to the contrary, Nobita and Fry hijack a car from the lunar rover ride and force it off its track, taking Shizuka and Leela with them and fall into a crater, forcing both Shizuka and Leela to use up most of their oxygen to save them. Meanwhile, Amy discovers that she accidentally dropped the ship's keys into the crate and has to recover them as they are now inside a claw game with the stuffed toys. Bender attempts to help her, but is caught reaching through the prize slot and ejected from the park. Running low on oxygen, Shizuka, Nobita, Fry, and Leela take refuge on a hydroponic farm. Bender arrives to seduce one of the farmer's robot daughters, resulting in him, Nobita, Fry, Shizuka, and Leela going on the run, trying to out-distance from both the farmer's shotgun and the lunar terminator. Shizuka and Leela both berate Nobita and Fry for refusing to accept that, apart from the amusement park, the Moon is nothing but a wasteland. As night falls on the moon, Shizuka, Nobita, Fry, and Leela find the Apollo 11 Lunar Module Eagle and take refuge inside of it. Nobita and Fry both apologize to Shizuka and Leela for hijacking the car from the ride. Fry explains his childhood dream to become an astronaut. Leela sympathizes, and they all watch an Earthrise together. Eventually, Amy manages to rescue all five of them with her newly developed crane operation skills, just before the farmer can kill them. On February 1, 3000, Nobita has been living at Planet Express for about a month and was being lazy and slept instantly during work with Fry who made messes, leaving food around (which attracts Owls, the vermin of New New York whom Shizuka is not afraid of), wasting water, and generally disrupting business for about a month which makes the employees complain. When it is discovered, however, Nobita has been napping and he thinks it would be a good place for him to live when he ran away while Fry has eaten the Professor's alien mummy (mistaking it for beef jerky). The Professor declares that Nobita and Fry both have to go. Nobita does not want to leave Planet Express but he is forced to do so. Everyone agrees. Nobita, Fry, and Bender all move in as roommates. When Leela takes Fry and Bender to search for an apartment in New New York, Nobita meets Nobisuke Nobi and Tamako Kataoka again and he tells both of them to help him until Gian, Suneo, Dekisugi, and Jaiko meet him again because Planet Express was not a good place for him to live after he was discovered and kicked out by the employees who weren't happy and they didn't want him there. Then, Nobita meets his teacher again while Shizuka meets Yoshio Minamoto and Mrs. Minamoto again. Nobita, Fry, and Bender move into a nice rent-controlled place that belonged to a friend of the Professor. Bender, Nobita, and Fry get settled in at their new apartment in which the 24 Japan, Stand By Me Doraemon, and Stand By Me Doraemon 2 posters are seen on the walls until when they then later hold a house-warming party with Shizuka, Leela, Gian, Suneo, Nobisuke, Tamako, the Professor, Hermes, Zoidberg, Amy, Sensei, Dekisugi, Jaiko, Yoshio, and Mrs. Minamoto when Leela gives Fry a fruit salad tree and they watch All My Circuits. Nobita and Shizuka both introduce Fry, Leela, Bender, the Professor, Hermes, Zoidberg, and Amy to Gian, Suneo, Nobisuke, Tamako, Sensei, Dekisugi, Jaiko, Yoshio, and Mrs. Minamoto which Nobisuke, Tamako, Yoshio, and Mrs. Minamoto met Leela earlier. Fry and Leela both meet Sensei for the first time and he considers Fry as a nice guy and Leela as friendly and smart. Gian and Suneo ask the Professor if they can join the Planet Express crew and he accepts them. Doraemon then meets Nobita again and he shows him that the 31st century is even way more awesome than the 22nd century. Nobita and Shizuka both also introduce Fry, Leela, Bender, the Professor, Hermes, Zoidberg, and Amy to Doraemon. When the group attempts to watch All My Circuits on the apartment's gigantic television, they discover that Bender's antenna interferes with the building's satellite reception. Doraemon tells Nobita that he gets to stay so he can assist the crew anytime while the Landlady promptly evicts Bender. Nobita reveals that Nobisuke and Tamako are both actually his parents and Shizuka does the same to Yoshio and Mrs. Minamoto. Tamako regrets what she has done to Nobita in the past when Leela tells Tamako. Nobita decides to stay with Fry, so Bender returns to his old apartment alone. Bender eventually cuts off his own antenna in the hope that he can move back in with them. When Nobita and Fry realize that a robot's antenna is vital to his self esteem, they help Bender locate and reattach it. Nobita takes the 24 Japan, Stand By Me Doraemon, and Stand By Me Doraemon 2 posters with him and he and Fry move back in with Bender until when they wait for Gian, Suneo, Nobisuke, Tamako, Dekisugi, and Jaiko to move in to live with them. Nobisuke and Tamako adopt Fry as their second son and Nobita's foster brother while Yoshio and Mrs. Minamoto adopt Leela as their second daughter and Shizuka's foster sister. Suneo goes to track down his distant relative named Suneri Honekawa and Nobita and Shizuka go to track down their distant relatives named Nobishi Nobi, Yumika Wu, Tamami Nobi, Eita Wu, and Katsuko Chou until they go to visit Nobishi's father and Yumika's mother with Fry, Leela, and Bender.
