A ten-time Grammy Award winner, three time Emmy Award winner, two-time Tony Award winner, one time Pulitzer Prize winner and three-time Academy Award winner, he is known for his popular hit songs and compositions since the late 1950s, many with lyrics by Hal David as part of the duo Bacharach and David.
